Delicious Halloween Cookie Recipe

This is a great Bloody Halloween lady finger cookie recipe. This cookie will be a favorite for your kids this Halloween or any fans of gore. A basic lady finger recipe with rapberry icing for added effect of blood on the fingers.

Ingredients for Bloody Lady Finger Halloween Cookie Recipe

1 cup butter, softened

1 -1/4 cup confectioner sugar

1 egg

1 tsp almond extract

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

¾ cup whole almonds

1 ½ cup confectioner sugar

2 tbsp milk

1 tbsp seedless raspberry preserves

Directions for Bloody Lady Finger Halloween Cookie Recipe:

Oven 325F and grease baking sheets

Mix together the butter, sugar (1 1/4 cups), egg, almond extract and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl and beat together with a mixer. Gradually add in the flour, baking powder and salt and continue mixing until there are no lumps and everything is smooth. Place the bowl into the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Take a small portion of the cookie dough out of the refrigerator and from the small portion take approximately 1-1/2 tsp portion, and roll into a thin (size of ladies pinky finger thin) roll shaped as a finger. Place an almond at the tip of the lady finger cookie as a finger nail, lightly press down. Image the dough to make it look similar to a finger, pressing down where the knuckles would be (use a knife to make knuckle wrinkles), make the tip of the finger smaller than the base, be creative and have fun making a life-like hand. Place the lady finger cookie dough onto the baking sheet. Make the base of the cookie look slightly jagged to have an appearance that it was severed.

Bake the halloween lady finger cookies in the preheated oven for 20 - 25 minutes or until light golden.

Remove the almonds from the halloween lady finger cookies and let cool.

Start making the raspberry icing. Mix the 1-1/2 cup confectioner sugar, 2 tbsp milk and 1 tbsp of seedless raspberry preserves. If you desire a deeper red add a little more preserves.

Place the raspberry icing where the nail should be on the lady finger cookie, and place the almond on top, dip the jagged base of the halloween lady finger cookie into the icing, drizzle as desired to make the cookie finger look bloody.
