Mouth-Watering Fourth of July Recipes

The Fourth of July is undeniably one of this nation's greatest and most widely celebrated National holidays and rightfully so, seeing as how it is recognized as the day we gained our independence as a free nation and all.

Of course, along with centuries of celebrating the Fourth of July holiday, have been the accompanying meals that an immeasurable number of cooks have prepared for their respective guests.

Fortunately, those of us who are lucky enough to live in this fast-paced, high-tech information age can get often spectacular recipes online in the blink of an eye and at the tips of our fingers.

With that said, here are several delicious Fourth of July holiday dishes that are sure to delight.

All-American Stove Top Beef Roast

Ingredients

1 8-10 lb beef roast

1 can beef gravy

1 onion

Your choice of meat seasoning

1 oval roasting pot

Directions

Fill roasting pot halfway with water, place roast inside pot and season. Cook on medium heat for approximately 3 hours, occasionally checking to maintain water level. After roast appears done, add sliced onion and can of beef gravy and let simmer 20 minutes on low heat. For more flavor, and an added side dish, add small whole potatoes and whole baby carrots.

Stove Top Sliced Penil (Pork Shoulder)

Ingredients

Purchase one 8-10 lb. pork shoulder and have sliced in 2 inch slices at butcher's or meat market.

1 onion

1 green pepper

1 teaspoon minced garlic

Your choice of meat seasoning

10 inch skillet

Directions

Put 2 1/2 cups of water in skillet add teaspoon minced garlic then place penil slices in skillet and let cook on medium rotating slices occasionally until half way done. Once your there add in your chopped onions and green peppers and let simmer until meat is completely done. Make sure to maintain at least 1/2 cup of water in skillet while cooking.

All-American Sautéed Pink Salmon

Ingredients

Purchase frozen pink salmon at local market (enough for you entire party).

Old Bay seasoning

1-2 Thinly sliced onions

Italian Seasoning

1 25 yd box of aluminum foil.

Directions

Place one tablespoon of margarine on one sheet if aluminum foil large enough to hold four pieces of pink salmon, (approximately 18 in. x 12 in.). gently spread out margarine and place the pink salmon on top. Season pink salmon to desire with Old Bay seasoning, Italian seasoning and generously place sliced onions on top. Let cook approximately 20-30 minutes depending on temperature of grill or oven.

Fresh Baby Leaf Spinach and Iceberg Salad

Ingredients

1 large bag of fresh baby leaf spinach

1 head of iceberg lettuce

1 bag shredded carrots

1 bag of shredded cheese (your choice of kind)

1 red and yellow bell pepper

2 heads of fresh broccoli

1 small head of red cabbage

1 bag of croutons

Directions

Start by cutting your head of iceberg lettuce, red cabbage and broccoli into small pieces. Then slice your peppers into medium-sized pieces. Once that's done, wash all your fresh vegetables in cool water and place them in a large bowl with two cups of shredded cheese, two cups croutons and your choice of seasoning, then mix well and serve.

All-American Fried Hybrid Corn

Ingredients

1 bag of frozen yellow corn

1 bag of frozen white corn

3 teaspoon of butter or margarine

10 inch frying skillet

Directions

Place skillet on stove on high heat add 1 teaspoon of butter or margarine to pan with both bags of frozen corn. Let simmer for approximately 10 minutes then stir while adding 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Let sit for another five minutes then steer again adding in your last 2 teaspoons of butter or margarine. Let simmer on low heat now for another 15 minutes while stirring occasionally. For even more flavor, subtract 1 teaspoon of butter or margarine and replace it with 2 teaspoon of Italian salad dressing.
