Move Theatre Snack Alternatives at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Austin, Texas

What I love about the culinary industry is the ability to reinvent and repackage old ideas. The food industry is responsible for snacking at movie theatres and this has often meant the basic popcorn and soda for many people. Others choose to eat nachos, hotdogs, or large boxes of chocolate candy. However, there are a section of theatre frequent customers that are looking for theatre food that would be more health. Many theatres are beginning to serve health food as snacks as an alternative to candy and soda or basic nachos.

One theatre that I have attended many times is the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema located at 1120 S Lamar Blvd in Austin, TX. What makes this theatre unique is that they serve draft beer in addition to very good martinis and cosmos. They also have a martini salad, which includes greens and roasting fish. They serve a collard greens dish called the Dolmas and a soup called Sex In The Bowl. It is a peach soup that has berries and chocolate dipped sandies. They also have a Soba Salad that includes green tea soba noodles in a sesame dressing with carrots, snow peas and sunflower sprouts. These health alternatives to snacking range in price from $6 to $10 per plate and they are served during the film. All of the ingredients are fresh and all of the lettuce is very crisp. All of the vegetables on the plate taste ripe and this gives you the feeling of being refreshed. I have been to this establishment many times and I usually order two salads.

The ordering process is easy because you write down your desired dish and then place the paper on a metal clip in front of you and the waiter will take your order. If you have finished and want another serving then you would write on the paper once again. This is nice because you get to enjoy the film and eat at the same time.

I appreciate these healthy snacking alternatives because I usually go to a regular movie theatre and feel guilty for eating nachos and soda. Here I can eat a fresh salad and enjoy some nicely roasted fish. Each dish has crisp romaine and juicy tomatoes and this leaves me feeling great about my snacking choice. There are some great and healthy movie theatre snack alternatives and this theatre has some of the best dining I have ever experienced.
