Movie Party Game Ideas to Play

Nicole A.
Movie party games can be used in between dinner and other forms of entertainment at your event. A variety of these games can be assembled using pen and paper or other household office supplies. Here are party games with movie themes that you can play on any occasion. These games can be modified to fit the needs of your event and used for TV shows as well.

Movie Line Challenge Game
There are two ways that you can play a Movie Line Challenge game with guests at your party. The first option is to list between eight and ten incomplete movie lines on a sheet of paper. Fifty percent of each movie line should be missing at either the beginning or end of the dialogue.

Examples:

1. Forrest Gump - "Mama always said life _______________. You never know what you're gonna get"

2. Jerry McGuire - "_____________ the money"

Answers:

1. "is like a box of chocolates"

2. "show me".

Make copies of this sheet of paper to accommodate all guests at your party and create one answer sheet to use for reference when scoring their responses. Instruct guests to fill in the missing movie line for each section of empty dialogue on their game sheets. The guest who completes all of the movie lines correctly in five minutes or less wins the game. The Second option is to use one main game sheet, complete with an answer key. Split your party guests into two competing groups that will play the game by reciting the missing portion of movie lines out loud in exchange for points. The group that scores the most points or completes the most rounds correctly wins this movie line challenge party game.

Movie Scene Assembly Game

Find out how well your party guests know the storyline of a particular movie by hosting a scene assembly pen and paper game. Print out game sheets that display five different sets of three movie scenes. Instruct guests to place each set of movie scenes in the correct sequence using a numerical or alphabetical ordering system. The first guest who rearranges the scenes into a sequence that matches the order that they appear in the actual movie wins this party game. Photos for your movie scenes can be found on a variety of movie review websites, online DVD stores and even on the website for the actual movie. You may also be able to hire a video editor to extract still frames from a movie that you can print out and use for reference.
