While the scores may be low due a total lack of bonus content Dirty Jobs is a fantastic show and one you have to see to believe. Mike Rowe hosts Dirty Jobs as he travels the world in search of jobs that most people consider gross but necessary to civilized society.

He not only finds really gross stuff, pulling sheep testicles out with his teeth comes readily to mind, he also learns a lot about the various jobs he encounters. Each disc of the six disc Season 3 set includes a host of episodes with about four or five main jobs on each disc that Mike goes to find more about.

Mike and a camera crew travel the world going from our backyards such as New York City and a look at how water towers on the rooftops of skyscrapers are replaced. Other locations include the high seas to trap fish and eels to deep underground to search caves or fill in mines for the safety of the public in general.

While Mike does brag in one episode about never getting sick on the sea adventures in this one to his surprise he does, all over a camera crew member. Even though Mike and crew get sick or thoroughly disgusted with a job they do press on with filming and learning more about the tasks at hand.

The list of jobs include Steel Mill Worker, Barge Demolition, Cave Biologist, Slime Eels, Buoy Cleaner, Shingle Maker, Cranberry Farmer, Brick Maker, Mud Mineral Excavator, Rice Plantation Worker, Water Tank Cooper, Elevator Repair, Floating Fish Factory, Dairy Cow Midwife, Aerial Tram Greaser, Erosion Control Technician, Turkey Inseminator, Mastic Slinger, Car Crusher, Ice Salvage Crew, Snow Oil Separator, Wind Farm Technician, Cave Cleanup, Printing Pressman.

The second set of discs has Greenland Shark Quest, Tar Rigger, Dirty Chip Maker, Fluid Pumper, Sheep Castrator, Leech Trapper, Mannequin Factory, Egg Farm, Vellum Maker, Maggot Farmer, Gourd Maker, Bologna Maker and Abandoned Mine Plugger.

Each episode contains a close look at the job at hand in many aspects such as getting to each job site and other difficulties including stuck cars, travel plans and equipment to each job site. Mike not only does a great job of exploring the dirty parts of each job but gives a simple yet attentive lesson about the necessity for the job and why people do them.

From important jobs like erosion control and sealing abandoned mines to fun things like potato chip cooking and gourd craft making Mike Rowe looks into some interesting and necessary jobs. Mike is a smart man and has a varied background that gives him a bit of an edge over many with his skill of faking his way into several jobs as well as intelligence.

While Mike is getting down and dirty he also has a great respect for these people who are working at jobs that many would not even consider. He also has a great sense of humor and open mind when working at these jobs and he does work at these jobs himself, getting his own hands and other parts dirty in the process.

Mike does the work of every job he goes to from the dangers of a saw blade spinning at thousands of rotations per minute right next to his hand as he cuts shingles to actually biting the testicles off sheep. Mike does first cut the testicle sack before the actual yanking of the poor sheep testicles but he does yank them out with his teeth.

Mike experiences everything these people do including melting his face shield as he cleans out a smelting bucket and getting down and dirty in all sorts of other ways. Dirty Jobs is a great and very educational show that takes a close look at jobs that our world is not the civilized place it would be without them.

Mike Rowe also does a great job of finding the humor in all the difficult and quite unpleasant jobs and situations that he finds himself and his camera crew in. His camera crew also does a lot of difficult things for getting the money shots that Mike often finds himself a part of, going above and beyond the call of duty themselves.

Mike is much like a fellow coworker and even though he is smart he does not come off as being a know-it-all other than what he observes and guesses at in any given job. Mike is a very likable guy and uses his brains much the way a good friend does with plenty of enthusiasm and just the right amount of empathy.

Mike is just the kind of guy you would want to work with or for and does a great job of exploring the world of jobs that many would not want or even want to look at. Dirty Jobs Season 3 takes another great look at these dirty jobs and Mike Rowe does a fantastic job of showing you the benefits in each job.

Dirty Jobs is a must have not only for learning about jobs that you may not want to even think about but it does a great job of educating and teaching how things are done on our society and civilization to keep things, well civilized. Dirty Jobs is not available just anywhere so go to the Discovery website to find out more about Dirty Jobs and to purchase Dirty Jobs Season 3.
