The movie was a great concept and idea since most people do not think about the ones that the people who tragically died in 911 left behind. Although the movie may not be based on a true story, it is something that many people can relate to and appreciate. Adam Sandler plays Charlie Fineman who lost his wife, three daughters, and beloved dog on 9/11.
Other great actors in the movie include Liv Tyler who plays his therapist and Don Cheadle who plays Charlie's former college roommate Alan Johnson. With the help of Johnson, Charlie is finally able to get his life back on track and be able to move on to a new home and plans for the future.
For most of the movie, Charlie is resistant to see a therapist to get professional help. Charlie just wants to hang out with Alan and have a good time. However, Alan remains persistant and is finally able to convince Charlie that he needs to talk to someone to help him deal with his pain. Charlie is still resistant at first, but he's eventually able to open up and talk about the burdons of losing his family.
With the friendship of Johnson to help see him through, Charlie is finally able to recover from the hurt and pain of losing his family and let other people into his life. I really liked how the movie started with Charlie on the scooter and ending with Alan on the scooter. If you want a movie with something more than humor or an unrealistic plot, you should watch this movie. I give the movie three and a half stars and two thumbs up.
The movie was quite touching and moving. Adam Sandler made the character very believable and gave a truly convincing performance. If you haven't seen this movie yet, see it as soon as possible. We should never forget 9/11 or the people who lost loved ones in the horrific tragedy.

- Reign Over Me - Situations AnalyzedCharlie Fineman is lonely, suffering from post-traumatic stress, and an altered/depressed mindset. It is nearly impossible to completely recover from such a tragedy, and Charlie is greatly behind on the recovery process.
