Movie Review: Top Gun (1986)

Based on an article witten by Ehud Yonay Hollywood's elite rallied to the call of patriotism, and is a must own for any fan of classic war movies.

In this 1986 blockbuster, you follow Lt. Pete (Maverick) Mitchell, played by Tom CruiseNavy Fighter Weapons School at Miramar California. The school trains the Navy's top 1% of pilots in aerial combat. Tom Cruise and the supporting cast blended perfectly to create one of the best films of the eighties and certainly one of the best military movies ever made. Top Gun won the 1987 Peoples Choice award for Favorite Motion Picture and the soundtrack for the film also achieved incredible popularity.

Top Gun really does have it all. A first rate military flick that reminds us that America is called a super power for a reason, but with a softer romantic undertone that tells us that behind every hero, there is a hot chick with a clipboard and a security clearance.
