Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story is a parody of Walk the Line; who remembers Walk the Line? Parodies are only good when what they are paroding is worth it. The plot to Walk Hard feels pointless. Why should I care about a made-up musicians life?? As a parody of Walk the Line it is just not that funny; so don't see it for that reason. See it because John C. Reilly is hysterical! Joke after joke, awkward moment after too funny akward moment, John C. Reilly rocks this movie. He makes you forget that Dewey Cox's life is dull and doesn't matter. John C. Reilly plays a musician that grew up in a rough family (his father doesn't love him) and faces challenges similar to other musicians (drug and sex temptations). At one point he plays Dewey Cox as a 14-year-old boy. He adds akward humor to a boring plot.
Jenna Fischer also stars in this movie as Dewey's righteous love interest. Jenna, from The Office, does a fantastic job of playing the hot yet unreachable girl. While she doesn't add to the movie's humor, she certainly adds beauty to the movie. Tim Medows adds humor to the movie as Dewey's drummer.
The Dewey Cox Story doesn't forget the cox. I would estimate a total of 1.5 minutes of close up of a males' "you know." Done completely for shock value, the scenes are not sexual at all and at first add a bit of humor to the movie; later, it just gets obscene.

I remember "Walk the Line." It doesn't sound like this parody would be something I'd enjoy. Thanks for the review.
