Movie Sneak Peek- Twilight (2008)

Matt Remley
Based on the New York Times bestseller, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, the upcoming movie based on the novel is certain to be an instantaneousness hit with people of all ages. If you're reading this then you most likely fit into two categories, first, those who have read Twilight, and those who are just generally movie fans checking out the scoop on random movies coming out shortly.

Either way, if you didn't know about the movie based on Twilight, you're about to be informed- by me. Some of you may think that the theatrical release in the United States is going to be on December 12th, however the date has been rescheduled to November 21st; which I'm sure has fans everywhere jumping for joy. Since I obviously cannot give you a gripping never before seen clip of the movie, I thought I would tell explain what I know of what is to happen, the various actors involved, and my personal opinion on the movie itself.

Let's start off with a quick summary of the story of Twilight; the easiest way to describe it is by calling it a vampire/human romance story. The story is about Bella Swan, a normal human girl who moves to a tiny town known as Forks, Washington, from her former home in from Phoenix, Arizona. Eventually she meets Edward Cullen, a vampire; though oddly enough the vampire in Twilight differ from vampires in most other media.

These vampires are able to stand in the sunlight, however they don't because they're skin is so white. Turns out that Edward is 108 years old, and has super speed and of course strength, not only that; but he is also able to read minds. Throughout, the movie, we will meet many other characters of Twilight, including Edwards siblings and relatives.

Fans of Twilight will possibly find a few things different about it in the movie, although the studio "Summit Entertainment" (who obtained rights to the film from Paramount) stated that they are trying to stick to the novel as much as possible. Which reminds me, I personally wish that Paramount wold have kept the rights to the film because it seems to me like the casting could have been better.

Other then that, I have no issues with the movie; however I will say that the trailer in no way captured the essence of the story. I'll have to wait and see how the movie goes and review it then, I hope It won't be a total waste of money. Speaking of money, Summit Entertainment has given the film a 37 million dollar budget- hope the film does well so we can see the rest of the Twilight saga made into films.

Last but not least, before I go let me list some of the major characters of Twilight, and whom will be playing them. Don't forget to check out Twilight on November 21st, especially if your a fan of the saga, or its author Stephenie Meyer.
