Movie Theaters in Binghamton

Best and Worst Movie Theaters in Binghamton

Jimmison
Binghamton is not a big town but together with Endicott and Johnson City; it has a population of almost 250, 000 residents. There aren't great options for restaurants, clubs, bars or recreation areas. The best thing to do in Binghamton is to watch as many movies as possible.

I recommend to all who is living or moving to Binghamton to subscribe to Netflix to begin with. If you are on a tight budget I can also recommend the Red Box alternative. There are Red Boxes in front of Price Chopper and also inside the Wegman's Grocery Store. You can check which films are available online, reserve and then go pick it up.

The movie theaters in the Binghamton Area will generally tend to show the most popular big Hollywood productions. Art Mission stands out to be a little different but honestly it is not so much different.

Here is a list of movie theaters in Binghamton area

1. Art Mission Theater (61 Prospect Ave)
You can watch independent movies at Art Mission but the movies will still be the popular kind of independent movies. It has two small theaters, the staff is really kind and pop corn is good. It is located in the heart of downtown so you can see a movie after having a dinner. The general admission price is $8, $7 for students and $6 for members. Art Mission is my favorite movie theater in Binghamton and I wish they were a little more adventurous with their film choices-at least once in a while.

2.Endicott Cinema Saver (19 Madison Ave)
This is my second favorite movie theater in Binghamton. The main reason is their prices. Their matinee(all movies until 6pm) price is 2.25!!! I have never heard of any cheaper movie ticket. It doesn't get much expensive after 6 pm either, it is 3.75 for adults, and 2.25 for students and seniors.

The Cinema Saver has 5 theaters in the old Burt's Building. This is not a high tech movie theater, it is old, the systems have not been updated but it is not so bad either. They have the ability to run many second run movies just a couple weeks after they come out of the main theaters.

3. Regal Binghamton Stadium 12 (900 Front Street)
This is one of the big movie theater venues you know, seen it everywhere. Nothing special about it but nothing to complain about it either. Good standard of technology, standard pop corn and many popular film options. Tickets are $9 for adults, $6.50 for students, seniors and children. The matinee is $6.75. It is great that it is so close to Cracker Barrel.

4. AMC Loews Vestal Town Square 9 - This one is very much like the Regal Movie Theater except that it is located in a shopping plaza. Only popular movies, quite a few movie options for children, nothing to remember but nothing to complain. The pop corn is a little greasy and expensive for my taste. I bring my coke and pop corn from home.

5.Courtland Plaza Theater (255 Tompkins Street)
Plaza Theater has 6 theaters and the movies are generally the popular Hollywood movies of the week. The tickets are $7.20 for adults, $5.25 for seniors and children.

The film choice is always more important than the movie theater choice but still, it is nice to be able to pay less, have good popcorn, good sound system and a comfortable chair. Enjoy.
