Movie Theaters in Bradenton, Florida

Sandra Bacon
There are plenty choices when it comes to movie theaters in Bradenton, Florida and the surrounding areas, and there is nothing better than taking in a movie and lunch or dinner on a weekend afternoon.

My friends and I prefer going to the matinees, not only because it's cheaper, but because by the time the evening movies start, we would rather be heading home, not just leaving.

Going to the movies is an excellent choice for a date, or for taking your family on an afternoon outing. Not only is it convenient, but you can estimate how much you're going to spend for the evening.

Below is a listing of 5 movie theaters in Bradenton, Florida and the surrounding areas. Please enjoy.

Regal Hollywood Stadium 20
1993 Main Street
Sarasota, FL 34236
Phone: (941)954-5768

The Regal Hollywood Stadium 20 movie theater is located in downtown Sarasota, Florida. It is at the intersection of Main Street and US Hwy 301 (North Washington Blvd).

This movie theater is huge. It has 20 screens and stadium style seating that happens to be very comfortable while watching their first-run Hollywood hits.

I like this theater because it is easy to get to, has accessible parking and quaint little restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. That is if you don't like concession style food. Above all this is my favorite theater.

Ticket Prices: Adult: $9.00 | Senior: $6.50 | Child: $6.00

Ticket Prices: Student: $8.00 | Military: $8.00 | * Matinee: $7.00

* All Shows Before 3:00pm

Carmike Royal Palm 20
5125 26th Street East
Bradenton, FL 34203
Phone: (941) 752-3796

The Carmike Royal Palm 20 is my second favorite movie theater, and is located at the intersection of Hwy 301 and 26th Street East. It is north of State Road 70 and about two blocks west of Wal-Mart.

This movie theater has been around for a few years, but it is still clean and comfortable with 20 screens and stadium style seating for you to view first-run Hollywood hits. The parking lot surrounds the building on two sides, but since it's the only building on the property, the parking lots are huge.

You have the traditional food at the concession stand, but if you want to eat before or after the movie, there some restaurants in the area. Please check into this, because businesses are closing, and I'm not sure what restaurants are still open.

Ticket Prices: Adult: $7.50 | Senior: $5.50 | Child: $5.50

Ticket Prices: Matinee: $6.50 (All Shows Before 6:00pm)

Lakewood Ranch Cinemas
10715 Rodeo Drive
Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202
Phone: (941) 907-1589

The Lakewood Ranch Cinemas is located in Lakewood Ranch, east of I 75, and north of University Parkway. It is across from the Legacy Golf Club. This theater is fairly new. It opened in December 2006, and has something a little different than other movie theaters.

Yes, it has 6 auditorium screens with auditorium style seating and stage with podium, but they also have a built-in private classroom and community room, wireless microphones, a spacious lobby, a lakeside patio, and beautiful landscaping. This is also the perfect place to hold your meetings.

But they also offer private movie screenings where you can invite 200 of your friends, family members, employees or clients. And you get to choose which current movie to watch.

They also offer special showings to clubs, school groups, scouting organizations and churches. Just call (941) 364-8662 ext. 2008 for any details you need.

Birthday Parties:

Interested in having a birthday party? Then The Lakewood Ranch Cinemas can help. You have to pay $15 dollars per person, and there is a 15 person minimum limit, but for that price you get...

• Party Room or Outside Patio
• Movie Admission
• Kiddie Combo - Popcorn, Drink, etc.
• Popcorn Popping Demonstration
• Projection Booth Tour

Call Nancy Grundy for more information (941) 955-3456 ext. 2004

The Lakewood Ranch Cinemas also has memberships you can join that range in price from $20 dollars for a student membership to $1000 dollars for a producer membership.

If you want to eat before or after the movie, there are quite a few nice restaurants in the surrounding area. Also since there are only 6 screens, you should plan in advance what you to see and the time it starts. This theater is still new enough for it to still be clean and comfortable.

Ticket Prices: Adult: $7.75 | Senior: $7.75 | Child: $7.75

Regal Oakmont 8
4801 Cortez Road West
Bradenton, FL 34210
Phone: (941) 954-5768

I had almost forgotten about The Regal Oakmont 8 movie theater. It's located on Cortez Road West, between 47th Street West and 51st Street West, in the Oakmont Terrace Shopping Center.

This is another theater I stopped going to when they built the Carmike Royal Palm 20. The Regal Oakmont 8 was recently renovated, and is still a clean and comfortable 8 screen movie theater with stadium style seating.

The Regal Oakmont 8 offers alternative productions, restored classics, first-run foreign movies as well as the first-run Hollywood hits. There is the regular concession stand for food, unless you prefer to eat at one of the surroundings restaurants or fast food places.

They do have discounted movies, but with them to find out which ones.

Ticket Prices: Adult: $8.25 | Senior: $6.00 | Child: $6.00

Ticket Prices: Matinee: $6.50 (All Shows Before 3:00pm)

Dollar Movies at Desoto Square Mall
303 Us Highway 301 Boulevard West
Bradenton, FL 34205
Phone: (941) 744-2950

The Dollar Movies at Desoto Square Mall was turned into a dollar theater to keep it open. With the construction of so many other larger theaters, they had to do something to keep the doors opened.

As you can see by the name, this theater is located at Desoto Square Mall in Bradenton, Florida, and it sits at the intersection of Cortez Road and Hwy 301.

I haven't been to this theater in about 5 years, but it's your typical auditorium style theater, with 6 screens, that was built in the sixties. They did do some remodeling on it a few years ago, but I'm not sure how clean or comfortable the inside is now.

But one thing about the Dollar Movies at Desoto Square Mall is that it's surrounded by places to eat. If you don't want the usual concession stand food, then the food court is inside the mall and outside are some nice restaurants that are still operating.

Ticket Prices: Adult: $1.75 | Senior: $1.75 | Child: $1.75

All the theaters listed above are opened year round. However, you may want to check with them about Christmas. They also all have disability access in the theaters as well as the restrooms.
