The Varsity Theater located on 123 E. Franklin Street Chapel Hill in NC 27514 truly has the best prices. The main reason for that is because it's such a small theater. Don't let that put you down; it's buzzing with business and for good reason too. The Varsity Theater tends to put out many foreign films with great ratings that other theaters do not. Seats at the Varsity Theater, like the Regal Timberlyne are slightly slanted. Tickets at the Varsity Theater are $6.50 each for adults and $4.50 for children and seniors. Surrounding Varsity theater is loads of upbeat street life, restaurants, sports bars, shops, and more.
The Lumina Theatre located on 620 Market Street in Chapel Hill, NC 27516 has a wonderful atmosphere, and like I said earlier, that makes all the difference. The feel you get when you come into the Lumina lobby is spectacular. The ceiling is lit with numerous strings all hanging at different lengths which gives off the illusion of a starry night sky. The seats in the Lumina are set up stadium style, my personal favorite. Like the Regal Timberlyne, the Lumina has an arcade room of its own. Tickets at the Lumina for daytime matinees, children, and seniors are all $6. Shows after 6pm are $8 for adults. Although for the outside viewings on the large projector during the summer, tickets are only $3. The Lumina is also surrounded by shops and mini marts to stock up on candy and snacks at as much as the heart may desire.
Regal Timberlyne 6 located at 120 Banks Drive in Chapel Hill, NC 27515 is closest theater for me which is why it's one of my favorites. If that wasn't enough, Regal Timberlyne is the cheapest theater in the area besides Carmike Wynnsong and the Varsity Theater. Tickets at Regal Timberlyne 6 are $7.50 each for adults, $5.75 for seniors, and $5.25 for children. The theater offers a wide variety of candies and drinks. What I also love about Regal Timberlyne is that family tubs are available for around $6 or $7 and are infinitely refillable free of charge. The seats in Regal Timberlyne are at a slight slant in order for people to see just as well in the back as one would in the front. Regal Timberlyne is also just a fun spirited place to be with its arcade room isolated from the ambient noises that come from within the theater. For future reference, the Regal Timberlyne is also located across a shopping complex of restaurants, shops, and a Food Lion. Just incase you would like to bring extra money to eat with family or buy groceries before and or after going to the Regal Timberlyne.
Southpoint Cinemas lies at 8030 Renaissance Parkway in Durham, NC 27713. Any movie after 6pm at Southpoint Cinemas is $9.50 for adults and $6.50 for seniors and children under the age of 12. Southpoint Cinemas always has a great selection of movies so there are no worries when it comes to picking one. Being located on the Streets of Southpoint makes eating out before or after a movie highly convenient. Southpoint Cinemas also has a wide variety of junk food available within the theater like queso nachos, slushies, and pizza. If you're a big shopper like the most of us you'll adore the shopping complex that surrounds Southpoint Cinemas, and the mall that's connected by the "streets." By streets what is meant is a long line of shops put together on either side of the walkway with the occasional break of a small road to get from parking lot to parking lot. The seating in Southpoint Cinemas is stadium style in order comfort everyone. The aroma to Southpoint Cinemas is very lively and exciting; almost like a whole city with a beat of its very own. Southpoint Cinemas is a theater worth visiting.
Like Southpoint Cinemas, Carmike Wynnsong 15 located at 1807 Martin Luther King Parkway in Durham, NC 27717 has a wide selection of movies. The ticket pricing for Carmike Wynnsong and Regal Timberlyne start out the same at $7.50 for adults. Carmike Wynnsong then branches out when it comes to seniors and children whose tickets at Carmike Wynnsong both go for $4.75. Carmike Wynnsong too has various arcade games and vending machines, but what really got me about this theater was it's specials on snacks. Every Tuesday the Carmike Wynnsong has what they call Stimulus Tuesday. By "stimulus" they mean, tubs of popcorn and large drinks for only $1 each. Carmike Wynnsong is a great theater especially if you'd like to go out with your family, beat the crowds, and spend less.
