Movie Theatres in Santa Clarita and Nearby Communities

There are many great places to do a 'dinner and a movie' kinda thing throughout Santa Clarita a surrounding areas. Below are my top choices.

Edward's Theatres Circuit Inc 24435 Town Center Drive, Valencia, California 91355 661-287-1740

Edward's is a clean, well equipped place to watch movies. They have stadium seating, beautifully designed interior, reclining seats with arm rests and well mannered staff. It is a huge and new theatre with pretty convenient hours of operation. They play IMAX movies once in a while for little extra cash, but it is worth it. The sound system is great, as is their snacks especially their freshly popped corn. As far as price, they are on the average for California, which is between $8-$11 dollars. Matinee is often about half the cost for evening show. If you want places to eat, there are various restaurants close to the theatre in the Westfield Valencia Town Center if you feel that hot dogs and other light meals won't do it. There is also another branch of the theatre in Canyon Country which is equally beautiful, next to Cold Stone Creamery

Pacific Theatres at The Grove 189 The grove Drive, Los Angeles, California 90036

OMG! The Grove is a beautiful place and a sight to behold. It has beautiful outdoor mall that you just got to see to believe. It is always packed with people shopping at the various retail stores including FAO Schwarz, Pottery Barn Kids, Nordstrom, Victoria's Secret, Banana Republic, Gap, and much more. But you have the leisure of using the self-help concession machine to buy your ticket and bypass the lines. It has huge, digitally up to date 3D presentation screens and sound systems. It is clean, has plushy stadium seating for great views, wide selection of high interest movies, and the staff is very pleasant. The price is a bit higher than most places, but you won't feel it after your movie and dining experience. There are many great eating places within the area, including the farmers' market . Parking can be a challenge, as yes everyone is trying to come shop, dine, or movie here. I recommend valet parking for a small fee.

The Bridge Cinema De Lux at the Howard Hughes Center 6081 Center Drive, Los Angeles, California 90045 310-641-8073 www.hhpromenade.com

This place is made important by the Promenade, where you can enjoy a selection from a plethora of cultural and ethnic cuisines including Japanese , Chinese, European, Island, Thai, and a very long list of places to dine. The theatre is great, with nice stadium-style seating and advanced sound systems. It has state of the art IMAX capacity, playing wide selection of current movies. The price is about right for the service you get. Retailers such as Nordstrom Rack , Barnes and Nobles, and Gymboree make it a great movie and shopping experience.

Pacific El Capitan Theatre 6838 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles, California 90028 323-467-7674

If you love movies or love kids, this is THE place to see a movie with your kids. There's always something cooked up by Walt Disney Pictures that is often first presented at El Capitan on 3D! It boasts beautiful architectural beauty of Spanish Colonial exterior enclosing an equally beautiful East India interior. It is in the heart of Hollywood entertainment, so you can expect nothing but the best. It has capability of 1,000 seats, lively center stage, one of a kind special effects, and Dolby sound system. It is great place for group shows, celebrations, and other special and private events.

Though the price is often higher than other areas, you will enjoy the difference in the atmosphere and dining possibilities. It is located just steps from the red carpet at the Kodak Theatre.

Mann's Chinese Theatre 6925 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles, California 90028 323-464-3331

For $10 per adult ticket and $7 for kids or seniors, Mann's Chinese Theatre is a really great deal; a great place to see a movie on huge screens in beautiful oriental-themed atmosphere. You are first greeted by the prints of stars at the forecourt, where you can see foot or palm prints of your favorite stars. There are great places to eat as well and the theatre is right across from the El Capitan and steps away from Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
