AMC Summer Movie Camp - Tuesdays from June 15 through August 10 -- One Dollar
Take the kids out to the movies every Tuesday morning at 10 this summer through August 10. For just $1 admission, moviegoers will be thoroughly entertained at these events. Free Movies in Charlotte
Regal Entertainment Group Free Family Film Festival - Tuesdays and Wednesdays June 15 through August 10 - Free Event
It may seem too good to be true, but REG has offered free family fun since 1991, and this year is no exception. Every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 am three Charlotte cinemas will show G or PG rated movies. Tickets are available on the day of the show at the cinemas on a first come-first serve basis. Locations: Stonecrest Stadium 22 & IMAX, Starlight Stadium 14 and Arboretum Stadium 12.

You'll really go outside for these movie events. If you can't make it to the theatre in the morning, watch them in the park at dark! That's what summer time is for.
Movies in the Park - Freedom Park - June 11, July 9, August 13 - Free Event
There's something special about being outdoors in the summertime at dusk, and Freedom Park's Movies in the Park offers the chance to do just that. The free movies (and free popcorn) are shown in the Freedom Park Amphitheatre on the second Friday of each month at sunset, so bring a chair or a blanket and prepare to be entertained. Even the dog is welcome! Location: 1900 East Blvd. Central Park District 3.

Movies at McDowell Nature Center - Free Event
Are you really into nature? Then check out the nature-themed movies at the McDowell Nature Center every Wednesday in June at 7 pm. All movies are rated G or PG with the exception of the June 24th showing. No children allowed for this movie, but child care will be provided for $3 per child. Location: 15222 York Road. Charlotte Film Festival 2010 - September 20-26, 2010
Wind down summer with the Charlotte Film Fesitval. In its fifth year, the Charlotte Film Festival promotes independent films, accepting national and international submissions. Approximately 60 films selected from a few hundred entries will be featured in the five following categories: Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, Narrative Short, Documentary Short, and Student Form.
Various events will take place at several venues throughout the week, including EpiCentre Theatre, Park Terrace Cinemas 6, Queens University of Charlotte, Whisky River, Black Finn, Therapy Cafe, PJ's Dessert Bar, and Jason's Deli.
Individual tickets can be purchased online for $7 and at the door for $8. Passes are also available ranging from the Five Pack, which consists of five admissions to any screening ($35 online) to the All-Access VIP Pass ($110 online), which allows access to all screenings, panels and parties.
2010 Projecting Hope Film Festival - September 23-25 2010
The third annual Projecting Hope Film Festival will be held at Ayrsley Grand Cinemas 14 located at 9110 Kings Parade, Blvd. Charlotte, NC. The free film festival features inspirational movies honoring God, including old familiar favorites and some so new they haven't yet been released to theatres. Tickets are free at the door on a first come first serve basis, although tickets can be purchased in advance for $5 each.
