Movies You May Have Missed Vol. 2

I Know This is Long Overdue, but It's Here

Frailty - A man confesses to an FBI agent his family's story of how his religious fanatic father's visions lead to a series of murders to destroy supposed "demons."

I wish this movie would have had better promotion because it is truly brilliant. All the actors do a wonderful job especially the kids. Hollywood needs more original movies like this and less remakes. Starring Matthew McConaughey.

The Hole - Four teenagers attending a private school find a mysterious hole in the ground leading to an underground structure originally built as a bomb shelter.

The description may not sound like much but you won't soon forget what happens in this hole. This is a very disturbing yet genius movie. Watch with a group of friends and enjoy each other's reactions. Starring Thora Birch and Keira Knightley.

A Bronx Tale - Gangster Sonny is the big man in Calogero's Bronx neighborhood. A shooting witnessed by Calogero is the starting point of a lasting bond between the gangster and the small boy. Father (bus driver Lorenzo), however, disap- proves. Calogero grows up under the wings of both men, torn between his own natural honesty and his fascination with Sonny.

This is a classic coming of age story set in you guessed it the Bronx. This is truly a timeless movie I still enjoy it now as much as I did the first time I saw it. The movie was directed by and stars Robert De Niro.

Memento - A man, suffering from short-term memory loss, uses notes and tattoos to hunt for the man he thinks killed his wife.

A love movies that have twists and Memento does not disappoint . It has some classic quotes, my favorite being "I can't remember to forget you." The thing I loved most was the way this movie was filmed, it has a Pulp Fiction kind of thing going on. It starts at the end and works backward then takes you back to the end to answer your questions, brilliant if you ask me.

The Machinist - Trevor Reznik has not slept for a year. His every waking minute has become an unrelenting nightmare of confusion, paranoia, guilt, anxiety and terror--each of which is part of an escalating series of clues that will lead to the source of his mysterious affliction.

The Machinist remind me of Memento in many ways, but I found that I enjoyed The Machinist a little more. I only watched this movie Because Bale did such a great job in Batman Begins that I wanted to see some of his other work. When I read that he lost 63 pounds for the role I had to see it. This movie will leave you confused and guessing until the end, amazing twist, amazing movie. Starring Christian Bale.
