Movies to See in the Box Office September 3, 2010!

Summer is officially over but the box office is hoping to keep the seats filled with its upcoming premieres. The lines are likely to simmer during September after the summer blockbusters. Here are some movies that might get you and your friends to make it a movie night this Labor Day Weekend.

Top expected releases on the first week of September are:

The American, which stars George Clooney as an assassin in Italy. A different role from his last Oscar Nominated film Up in the Air. He should be able to fill the role in this movie from his past roles in the Ocean's series. I would probably see this if you have not gotten sick of all the spy movies that have been released lately.

Machete is a film that looks to get your blood boiling. With a well rounded cast: Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey, Robert DeNiro, Steven Seagal, Lindsay Lohan, Tom Savini, Cheech Marin, and Don Johnson, expect exciting performances. This movie looks to be like Sin City, GrindHouse, Dusk Til Dawn, and the like! Gore, nudity, explosions, action, and probably random subplots/dialog. Nonetheless, if you are looking to be entertained without a high expectation of epic movie proportion, this is the movie to see.

The last headlining movie for Labor Day weekend is Going the Distance starring Justin Long and Drew Barrymore. It is a romantic comedy which deals with a couple having a long distance relationship and how they cope with the situation. Barrymore has been in romantic comedies before such as Fever Pitch, Music and Lyrics, and most recently He's Just Not that Into You. Justin Long has been well known for playing as Apple/Mac in the Mac vs. Windows commercials, and he himself was in Barrymore's most recent film as well. This movie is a great option if you do not feel like watching either of the two previous films mentioned.

Whether you decide to watch any of these movies at the box office or not, it provides movie goers with variety for the first week of September.
