Mr Chip's Movie Review "The Littlest Angel" (1969)

As I always say make sure movies are age and subject appropriate. With that on with my review.
Before I start, in not too many months it will be Christmas. Forgive me if I am rushing it. But I know the reason for the season. All Hallows Eve is not on my list at all. I am not a scary Holiday person. So that is what will make my latest movie that much more special.

So what is the movie "The Littlest Angel" about? Though it was made in 1969 long before many of the computer,Ipod,DVD and CD generation was born. It can still be viewed as a still timely subject and one that will perhaps be relevant for future generations. The "Littlest Angel" stars Johnny Whitaker. Whitaker plays Michael a shepherd who falls to his death off a cliff, goes to Heaven, but once in heaven he begs to go back to earth to retrieve his special box. When he does return to Heaven. It is the night of Jesus birth. Everyone including the wise men are giving gifts to the Little King of Nazareth. But Michael has no gift except his humble little box.

Please watch this movie with your children,with your better half,with your family. It is a simply wonderful movie. It has no rating or a so-called (NR) but the MPAA did not rate it. As far as Mr. Chip's is concerned I loved it when i was little. And now that I am reaching my young grandfather days I still love it. In fact my local library here in Columbia South Carolina after reviewing the movie, originally written in a novel by Charles Tazewell then adapted for the screen. My library decided to acquire it and many patrons have checked it out and enjoyed it.
You would be amused to know I have not had chance to see it for a second time...Yet! So perhaps that will be a sequel to this movie review. Anyway. I do remember vividly how much I remember a very,very young actor named Johnny Whitaker who played the cherub in Heaven Michael. I think I still can remember him flying up to Heaven. And I remember the special box Michael has in the movie. Let me add something else. For fans of the sixties family sitcom "family Affair." Johnny you may recall played a twin called Jody and his twin sister was(Anissa Jones) Buffy with her doll Mrs. Beasley. Then the head of the house(Brian Keith) Uncle Bill,the big Sister((Kathy Garver) Cissy, the Gentleman's gentleman Sebastian Cabot as Mr. Giles French and Sherry Alberoni as Sharon

A reviewer about the movie from Canada simply known as Kastelic blogged that she loved the movie as a child.
Now how wonderful that with this age of the Internet. I have found the movie including music in the movie I loved. I went to You Tube and found a clip with a lady Angel singing a solo after Michael enters heaven. I listened to it. Which must be over forty years ago. But the music is timeless like the story. perhaps as the birth of Jesus nears. You will share this movie with your family,friends,loved ones and maybe those not friends.
