Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser: It's Truly Magic

A few years ago, my husband brought home a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Advertised for cleaning walls with just a little water. I didn't think of using it right away. Then, I realized that I was not getting my vinyl tile kitchen floor as clean as I would like. We have good tiles, but the dirt would always get ground into the fine crevices of the floor. Before the magic eraser, I had to scrub some areas with a little brillo as I was mopping the floor. This was the only way I could remove some of the dirt.

One day I decided to try the Magic Eraser. I put some vinyl tile cleaner onto the sponge and wet the sponge well. I couldn't believe the job it did! I did the entire floor on my hands and knees (It's a good sized kitchen, but not very big.), and was finished in less than 15 minutes. All I had to do was wash an area, rinse the sponge, then go over the area with clean water. Once the sponge showed no more dirt from that area, I knew it was clean.

My floor looks like new after I wash it with the Magic Eraser. I told my mother-in-law about it since my father-in-law cooks a great deal and their floor gets dirty often. She could also not believe the dirt that came off the floor.

After using the Magic Eraser for this purpose, I sent an e-mail to Procter and Gamble about the product and asked if the Magic Eraser sponge was ever put onto a sponge mop. There is a Magic Eraser sponge mop available through Target and some other retailers. You can go to the Procter and Gamble website for a listing of stores. The sponge mop seems to work just as well as the hand eraser. The mop has a heavy-duty handle, and includes a thick Eraser that is good for several cleanings. I now use the Magic Eraser sponge mop on the floor, but use the original Magic Eraser sponge to get into low spots such as under the radiator.

I have found other good uses for the Magic Eraser. It is very good for cleaning vinyl wallpaper, and of course, on painted walls that have hand marks or even pen marks. There is a newer Magic Eraser that it supposed to be stronger. I have tried it, but it seems to clean about the same as the original. It may do better on surfaces such as stoves.

Overall, I think the Mr Clean Magic Eraser is a great product. I highly recommend you try it, if you haven't already.
