Mr. Denial

Robin Jessie-Green
"Who was she?"

"Oh her? I forgot her name."

"Really? What a shame.

She seemed to remember you..."

"Yeah, but I have no clue..."

We began strong and hard

Loving with no regard

for the possibility that we

might fizzle out

I loved you real.

There was no one else

I was so serious about.

But you had different plans

that no longer involved being my man

And when once again

we happened to meet

As passersby on the street

I catch your eye--

And she asks, "Who was she?"

You respond, "No one. I forgot her name."

"Oh, that's a shame..."

Now, I've become

the forgotten one

no need for introduction.

It's plain to see

You were meant to be-- at least temporarily...

May your "love stand the test of time

lasting for eternity."

Wasn't that the line?

I'm not hating.

I'll just be waiting

because one day soon

you too will be properly dismissed--

by that certain Miss

that will so easily forget "Who?"

Having no clue

it was you,

Mr. Denial
