Mr. Fly and Me

Steven West
A fly landed in my soup.

He was doing a back flip.

I told the fly to leave my soup.

He said, "Don't give me any of your lip."

My mouth fell wide open.

I couldn't believe what I just heard.

But the fly was not done talking,

And he flipped me the bird.

"I'm enjoying myself in your soup.

It's a jolly place to be.

I just wish you'd go out to the store

And bring back an HD TV."

I got very angry at the fly.

I said to the fly, "See here."

The fly left my soup in a huff,

And flew right into my beer.

"I'm not going to leave you alone,"

Said the tipsy fly to me.

"So again I'm telling you to make me happy,

And go out and get me an HD TV."

I gave up after the fly spoke.

I walked right out of that place.

Too bad the fly left as well,

And sat upon my face.

"Leave me alone," I hollered.

The fly shook his head and said, "No!"

"I'm going home with you

Cause I want to watch the show."

"What show do you want to see?"

"Tell me Mr. Fly."

The fly looked up and responded back,

"I want to see the Return of the Fly."

The fly and I became buddies.

We watched the show with glee.

The fly was in his glory.

He finally had his HD TV.
