I stumbled across Mr. Number when searching for a number that was constantly calling my phone; when I would answer it would be a fax machine or a fast busy signal. Thanks to this free website I was able to find out who was calling. It turns out it was a magazine subscription sales company that insisted I won a free year subscription but I needed to verify my identity and pay a one dollar processing fee.
What information can you get from this free website? In most cases it will give you the type of number it is (wireless, business etc) and the area that it is calling from. It will also list the number of times people have looked up the number and the number of complaints that people have attached to it. You can add your own comment to the list without having to register, you do have to enter a four or five litter / digit code to eliminate spam. The comment is shown instantly and you do not have to enter a name or any personal information.
The website is 100% free to use and they have a couple of Apps for various phones that you can access at the bottom of their home page and so far the information has been completely accurate and the feedback from people at the site has been dead on accurate. You can enter the number with or without hyphens (6195550000 or 619-555-0000) and it will get any entries that have been made about it. You do not have to leave feedback but it can help someone that is trying to find out who is calling them and what they want.

Post a CommentNeat! I usually ignore calls from numbers I don't recognize, too. Never really got curious enough to try this though. Now I might try keeping track and have some fun. Thanks, Freaky. :oD
