This is one of the defining moments of your presidency and if you fail, that is your legacy that people will remember. There is a lot of noise out there but listen from where it is comes. It is coming from people who have money, who have their little health plans in place and who do not care anything about those less fortunate than themselves. They believe they will always have their little health plans to protect them and their families. How quickly they forgot the lesson that is being taught - most Americans are one paycheck away from poverty and loss of their precious health plans goes with that.
Without access to proper health care what do you have as a nation? There are those who would rather see people die early deaths than provide them with a modicum of quality health care?
You have fought your election upon this value and if you have to lose your presidency over it, at least it will be an honourable loss and no one could fault you for it. Think again about your own mother, whom you yourself said that when she was very ill, she was thinking more about access to health care rather than about her illness. Is this the society America wants to continue to nurture or do they want a society that cares for people? A society that supports bailing out the rich super corporations than take care of its weakest is not a society I care for. The fact is the population of the weakest is growing exponentially and those who feel they are sitting on top of the heap may not yet feel the impact of the economic rot that is happening at the bottom.
People are a country's greatest resources and having access to reasonable healthcare is one of a nation's primary responsibilities and America has been failing people badly in this regard for many years. It is time for change and yes, we can.
Please do not listen to old rich men whose interests are clearly with the rich and famous and not with the ordinary working people for whom your plan will give a huge boost of security.
Yes, there have been some setbacks and mishaps perhaps because you might have placed too much confidence on some of the people around you but you are the President and you must take control over the situation and restore faith in this worthy policy. You have to make it clear that America cannot afford to go down the road it has always gone, there is a need for positive change, the change you talked about during your campaign - yes we can.
Americans need to know that employer's insurance will keep on rising because every time an employee collects on these insurance policies, the premiums go up for the employer and soon they will not be able to afford insurance for their employees because the premiums are based on fee-per service. If this is allowed to continue the market will crash and crash hard again. What is there that people do not understand. It is time for action and for your leadership to shine at this point.
Thanks you Sir,
Citizen
