My Brother the Soldier

Buddy Reed
What is he doing right now? How is he handling it? As my sister posted on Facebook, "To be a fly on the wall..." When he was younger he was prone to disobeying orders. Often I remember my sister, Amanda Hinton, and I arguing endlessly with him to get his chores done so that Mama and Dad wouldn't get angry. Not to mention his stubbornness in regards to doing his homework. With his history of being my little brother in mind, I find myself one hundred percent positive that he will excel in his endeavors.

Who thought that my goofy, or dare I say eccentric, little brother was military material. He is smart. He is strong and has a rigid moral compass. These are good qualities for any man to have, doubly so, for a protector of our inalienable rights. I am proud to call him brother. His parents, I'm sure, are proud to call him son. He is a model citizen, doing his part to better the world. If everyone who joins the military are of similar caliber, then we are in good hands when the proverbial "poodoo" (obligatory Star Wars reference) hits the fan. By the way Happy Birthday, Cody! We love you and are very proud of you to say the least.
