Mrs. Brady Leaves the Bunch: Florence Henderson Out ("DWTS": Oct. 19, 2010)

Florence Henderson Voted Off "Dancing with the Stars" on October 19 Tuesday Elimination Show

Connie Wilson
Mrs. Brady of the Bunch
Could not survive the Tuesday crunch.
Off she went; she left the show,
(Though many more deserved to go.)

Bristol and Kyle both made the cut
Despite low scores, their door's not shut
To let them win this dancing show
[They were the ones who deserved to go.]

Who manned the phones to vote this week?
Tea Party folk or Team Schwergo geeks?
Whoever it was, it's Lopez time
So vote for the best to let them shine.

I wanted Florence to go. She wasn't bad FOR HER AGE, but this is not about looking cute at 70 something. This is about dancing, about steps. It's about wowing the audience with feats of physical athleticism, agility. Florence isn't going to do that. She can act the part but she can do little else. Bristol and Kyle have an advantage over Florence; it's an insurmountable advantage. It's called youth. Danny Osmond won and he was not young, but he had it all over Florence. Jennifer Gray is my favorite this season and I was shocked to hear that she is 50. She has a lot of talent and she looks good but can she go the distance? That is the question.
