Mrs. Fields Cookies - History Behind the Perfect Snack

Whenever I hear the name Mrs. Fields, I immediately start thinking about how good one of her cookies is going to taste. Ever since I was a kid I would always bug my mother to stop at the Mrs. Fields store in the shopping mall and buy me a cookie. Of course, one was never enough! Without a doubt, Mrs. Fields is popular all over the U.S. and serves up some of the best cookies around.

Mrs. Fields cookies actually got its start in 1977 in California. Debbi Fields opened up the first store with everyone around her telling her she was nuts for doing so. They said no one could have a successful business by only selling cookies! Boy, were they ever wrong. With franchises all over the country, Mrs. Fields is a household name for anyone wanting a great cookie.

At a recent trip to the mall we stopped by Mrs. Fields with our daughter. Seeing that it was her birthday coming up we thought we would surprise her while doing some shopping. When we got to the Mrs. Fields store we were greeted by a smiling face asking us what we would like. Immediately I said we wanted the extra large chocolate chip "Happy Birthday" cookie on display. To say she was surprised is an understatement.

To our surprise, she even shared it with us. The thing I enjoy about Mrs. Fields cookies is how soft and chewy they are. I never have liked an extra crisp chocolate chip cookie that so many other stores sell. You don't find that with one of her cookies.

What many people don't realize is that you don't have to go to the mall in order to enjoy these cookies. Mrs. Fields has an online store that you can place an order and have your cookies shipped right to your door. In my case, while that is nice, it can be dangerous to my waistline.

Seriously though, this can be a great way to send a personal gift to anyone you know who enjoys the taste of good cookies.
