Mrs. Freshley's Pecan Twirls

Sitting on the table in front of me is an empty Mrs. Freshley's Pecan Twirls container. This evening, I consumed the last of the six pecan rolls that were in the package.

These pecan rolls are just one of the many delicious Mrs. Freshley's snack products. Distributed by Flowers Foods of Atlanta, Georgia, these snack cakes and other treats are often sold at smaller food retailers, as well as supermarkets.

Presented here, in an effort to assist the consumer, is an article which reviews and examines Mrs. Freshley's Pecan Twirls.

When I recently purchased one of these packages of pecan twirls at a local bodega, the price that I paid was $1.39. That works out to roughly $0.23c per serving.

Texture / Consistency
These pecan twirls feature a soft and fairly moist texture that is accented by a dusting of what appears to be cinnamon and / or ground pecans. The twirls are arranged in spiral circles which can be untwirled into long strands of dough.

The texture of these pecan twirls is actually pretty light. They are enjoyable to eat as is, but their texture really shines when they are eaten with a hot cup of coffee. As with donuts, Mrs. Freshley's Pecan Twirls are great for dunking in coffee. They are also a wonderful accompaniment to ice cream and fresh fruit.

Taste / Flavor
There are many different brands of pecan spiral snack cakes available in America and I have eaten at least half a dozen different varieties. These pecan twirls offer what I consider to be a very good version of the classic pecan pinwheel or twirl flavor.

Sweet, but not too sweet, Mrs. Freshley's Pecan Twirls contain just the right amount of cinnamon and pecan. To me, these pecan rolls offer a subtle and somewhat elegant flavor. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of 9.50.

Packaging
Mrs. Freshley's Pecan Twirls are packaged in a clear plastic tray that is covered with a yellow and blue wrapper. The front of the wrapper contains a see-through window and the rear label lists all relevant ingredient and nutritional information. The package opens easily, but be careful not to tear the wrapper when opening it, if you want to store the opened package in the refrigerator.

Overall Rating
All things considered, Mrs. Freshley's Pecan Twirls are an excellent product. The pecan rolls taste great and maintain a pleasing texture and they are inexpensively priced. These pecan rolls are highly recommended.
