The Clean Day Laundry Detergent comes in a clear 64oz bottle that resembles a half gallon of milk. It has a black top and a fun lime green label with a white outline of a woman doing laundry.
Mrs. Meyer's Laundry Detergent contains plant derived surfactants, cotton extract, borax, enzymes, solubilizing agents, essential oils of lemon, lemon grass, mint, peppermint, clove, geranium, and fir needle, fragrance, and a preservative.
The label claims that the detergent is concentrated so the bottle should last through 32 loads of laundry and that it can even work with High Efficiency washing machines.
Mrs. Meyers also states that the essential oils in Clean Day deeps clean while still being gentle on fabrics. And that the Lemon Verbena scent leaves a light citrus scent that's refreshing, invigorating, and will give you a pick-me-up.
I've been using Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day for awhile now, and I've found that it cleans the average load of laundry as well as mainstream detergents do. If I've had slight stains on fabrics they usually come out in the wash with the Clean Day.
I've also found that it was very gentle on my clothes. They felt soft and none of them faded, not even dark jeans, after I washed them with Mrs. Meyer's. My favorite aspect to this detergent though was the lemon verbena scent.
Normally I like the artificially scented laundry products but the lemon verbena fragrance in Mrs. Meyers's is all natural and it just put those artificial scents to shame. The lemon verbena scent smells like lemons with a slightly fresh green plant scent. The fragrance was so loud that I could smell it coming through the washing machine whenever I walked past my laundry room. And it left my clothes smelling crisp, clean, and sunny.
There were a few issues that I had with Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day though, because it's all natural it didn't produce a thick lather like synthetic laundry detergents do, so I always had to use a cap and half of Clean Day instead of just one cap for me to feel confident that a small load of laundry was getting clean. So I got less than 32 loads of laundry done with one bottle.
In the End...
I do like the Lemon Verbena Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Laundry Detergent. It's safe for the environment, it has a great fresh scent that smells light and summery, and it has gotten my clothes cleaner than other eco-friendly laundry detergents. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
