I began a regiment of cleaning the wound 3 times a day. You need to squeeze the site gently to get most of the MRSA puss out. I would then begin with using peroxide first. I would flush the spot for about 5 minutes. If it would begin to sting that was better as I knew the peroxide was getting through the infection. I would then apply Bacitracian Ointment to the wound and then apply a sealed dressing. Within 1 day I could see an improvement. Within 5 days the spot was healed. I was impressed and thought I had won the battle.
If the MRSA is in an area that you can soak it in Epsom Salts after peroxiding the wound. This greatly helps with pulling the infection out. I began using the Epsom Salts when the MRSA showed up in my index finger. MRSA is very painful and this not only draws the infection to the surface but also helps subside the pain a little.
It was to my avail that I hadn't won the battle per say. The MRSA returned one more time and I treated it the same way again. It hasn't ever returned in my breast again. I have had it arise 1 time in my cheek and 1 time in my index finger.
My son contracted it this summer after he got a tattoo. His arm was a mess, he had 5 different sites to treat. Just from a tattoo. I bought all the things he needed to treat it and had it healed up in 7 days with very little scaring. He would peroxide the area for 3 to 5 minutes, then soak it for 20 minutes in Epsom Salt water. We would put about a cup of Epsom Salts in the hottest water he could stand. Then we applied Bacitracian Ointment. This is a wonderful ointment it has Zinc in it. The Zinc is to promote cell restructure and healing.
I am writing this article to let people know there are other ways to deal with MRSA. I am not a doctor. I just know how much this infection cost me and still didn't work. I have had a total of 5 episodes with this kind of infection and 3 of the 5 I have cleared it up myself. I would suggest that if you try this and the staff doesn't look like it is getting better in a few days you probably had better go to a doctor. I am still paying for the surgery on my breast as I had no insurance and still had to heal it myself. Wish I would of done this to begin with.
