Recently, I had the opportunity to eat Mt. Olive Mild Banana Pepper Rings for the first time and I'm glad I had the opportunity. At an AA meeting that I usually attend, we held a combination meeting and picnic outside last week. Among the condiments and side dishes that were available were Mt. Olive Mild Banana Pepper Rings.
These yellow (and some reddish / orange) pepper rings were very popular with the meeting / picnic attendees. Myself and several other people added some pepper rings to the tossed salad that was available and I placed a cut up pepper ring on a hot dog that I ate. A couple of people were eating the pepper rings plain, straight out of the jar.
Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is one food writer's product review of Mt. Olive Mild Banana Pepper Rings
Size
The net weight of the standard - sized container of Mt. Olive Mild Banana Pepper Rings is 12 ounces. These pepper rings are also sold in 64 ounce and one gallon containers.
The individual pepper rings vary in size, but are all basically bite - sized.
Nutritional Facts
After deciding to review Mt. Olive Mild Banana Pepper Rings, I did not have access to the container that was used at the meeting I attended. Also, I could not find accurate nutritional data on the Internet. These pepper rings are very low in calories, however.
Uses / Texture
If you're a fan of banana peppers to begin with, you would probably enjoy these pepper rings on a multitude of items. If you are not very familiar with mild banana peppers, their mild, yet slightly - hot flavor adds a lively sense of taste to sandwiches, salads, subs, pasta dishes, pizza pies, omelettes, soups, entrees and more. These peppers are soft and moist in texture.
Price
The regular retail price charged for one 12 ounce container of Mt. Olive Mild Banana Pepper Rings at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets is approximately $2.49. This price seems reasonable to me, the container holds plenty of tasty, high quality pepper rings.
Taste / Flavor
Mt. Olive Mild Banana Pepper Rings offer a pleasing flavor that is mildly hot, but not over powering. These peppers do not taste like bananas, however. To me, these pepper slices taste somewhat tangy and slightly sour, with just a faint amount of sweetness present.
On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of nine.
Packaging
Mt. Olive Mild Banana Pepper Rings are packaged in a clear glass jar, which affords a great view of the enclosed peppers. The front label features the distinctive black and yellow Mt. Olive logo and the rear label lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information.
Overall Rating
These pepper rings offer a mild, yet lively flavor that accentuates other foods they are served with. Although I wouldn't want to each large quantities of these peppers in one sitting, adding a few rings to a sandwich, salad, entree or other item can add a sense of zing and zest that is quite satisfying. These reasonably priced pepper rings are stocked and sold at food retailers across America and are a recommended item.
