MTV Video Music Awards: Winners List and Memorable Moments

Renee Bagley
Last night the MTV Video Music Awards aired and there were some surprises and some not some not so big surprises. Let's not forget those strange moments, either.

Beyonce debuted her baby bump proudly rubbing her tummy in front of millions of people.

Lady Gaga brought out her really weird alter-ego, Joe, was I the only one who thinks she has enough problems already? (sometimes most of us can barely stomach the Gaga shenanigans, much less this new "personality" and it's high time someone tells her: Get a grip woman. We like the music (some of it) but we don't all want your taint on us. Oops, did I say that?

Britney Spears won the first award and with tears she thanked God, her fans, children, and told Jason Trawick, "I love you."

Winners:
Best Pop Music Video: Britney Spears' "Till The World Ends"
Best Rock Video: Foo Fighters "Walk"
Best Hip- Hop Video: Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass"

Best Video with a Message: Lady Gaga's "Born This Way"
Best Collaboration: Katy Perry and Kanye West's "ET"
Best Female Video: Lady Gaga's "Born This Way"
Best Male Video: Justin Bieber's "U Smile"
Best New Artist: Tyler the Creator's "Yonkers"

Video of the Year: Katy Perry's "Firework"
