MTV's "The City," Season 2: Episode 7 Recap

The British Are Coming

Alexandra Morgan
It's New York Fashion Week in episode 7 of The City on MTV and both Olivia and Roxy's jobs are on the line, though Olivia is too conceited to realize it.

MTV's The City, Season 2: Episode 7 (Olivia)

When Elle Magazine finally calls upon Olivia's constantly boasted fashion industry insider connections for a backstage interview at the Marc Jacobs show, Olivia can't even get clearance, and Elle loses the coverage. Olivia follows that one up by oversleeping the following day's Badgley Mischka show, but thankfully, Louise Roe (the girl who Erin interviewed as a possible replacement for Olivia) is there and agrees to fill in for Olivia. Louise drastically outperforms Olivia, winning the instant respect of Joe Zee and Elle associates, landing herself an instant job offer. Olivia isn't instantly ousted but the ball is definitely rolling in that direction.

MTV's The City, Season 2: Episode 7 (Roxy and Whitney)

Though Roxy's job is on the line in the beginning of episode 7 when Kelly Cutrone makes clear that if she screws up the David Delfin show, she'll be fired, somehow by mid episode Roxy manages to impress Kelly (for the time being anyway). But unless a lot has been edited out, it looks to me like all Roxy can take credit for doing right is standing there silent while Kelly takes care of everything.

Following this little victory of Roxy's, Kelly decides to entrust Roxy solely with Whitney's Miami fashion show -- I smell disaster coming. It looks like from the previews for next week's episode, the two gals (Whitney and Roxy) are up against a lot of chaos trying to make this fashion show fly without the help of Kelly Cutrone and People's Revolution.

MTV's The City, Season 2: Episode 7 (Next Week)

Tune in to The City on MTV this Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. to see if Elle decides to hire Louise Roe on full-time to replace Olivia, and to watch Roxy and Whitney take on Miami for Whitney's Whitney Eve fashion show.
