You could say that Hillary and the other democrats who've been saying that America needs a change from the Bush Whitehouse are ready to force that 'change'. We can clearly see that the results of Fenton Communications' PR campaign for Cindy Sheehan, now we're seeing a similar push for the democrats' candidates. A carefully crafted, very palatable image is being created for our multicultural candidate for president in 2008, "Barry", Barack Hussein Obama.
Here are a few more reasons why his characterization of himself at the DNC as being "from the South Side of Chicago" wasn't exactly an honest characterization, and gives a person pause.
Both of his parents were academics, but didn't start out that way. His father grew up herding goats in Kenya, but got a scholarship to Hawaii where he met Barry's mother, originally from Kansas. The two met in Honolulu. At some point, his father was the senior economist in Kenya's Ministry of Finance, until he was killed in an accident in 1982. To my understanding, his parents divorced, his mother married an Indonesian oil manager, and they moved to Jakarta. Barry moved back to live with his grandparents in Hawaii when he was six years old to attend school. Barry lived comfortably, attending elite private schools, just as John Kerry did as a young man. He then attended Columbia University in New York, and after receiving his B.A., came to Chicago for a few years as a paid community organizer (I can find nothing on what this really means). He then returned to the Ivy League at Harvard, where he served as editor of the Law Review. After that, he came back to Chicago and was one of the directors of Project VOTE, which describes itself as a non partisan organization with the goal of turning out and registering record numbers of new voters. He eventually secured a post at the University of Chicago, and for a long time, went by "Barry"; a slick, handsome, intelligent University of Chicago professor, a lawyer who served Hyde Park and the Gold Coast in Springfield. In the 2002 election, half of his votes came from just three wards: those representing the Gold Coast, Hyde Park, and the South Shore.
Soon he ran for the state senate when his political sponsor stepped down to run for a different office. He ran unsuccessfully for Congress against Bobby Rush in 2000. And then, an interesting chain of events took place; he ran for Fitgerald's open seat in the Senate against Blair Hull in 2004. When the Chicago Tribune exposed Hull as a man who beat his wife, Hull was quickly removed from the running, and George Ryan stepped in, quickly stepping down because of a sex scandal again, dutifully exposed by the Democrats' media. At this point, it appeared no republican was going to oppose Obama, until Keyes was brought in from out of state. But Keyes was to 'extreme' for the blue voters of Illinois, and suddenly Obama, who'd begun with hardly a budget at all, had an impressive 71% of the vote.
It is baffling that Barry could have any appeal to evangelical Christians, considering his extreme position on Abortion; any time, anywhere. Barry voted against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act of 2000, HR 2175, which essentially states that any baby born alive would legally be considered a person. Barry apparently doesn't support that a baby born alive would be granted full protection under the U.S. Constitution, a curious position, considering he's supposed to be a constitutional lawyer. "Allowing certain unwanted babies whose mothers were induced into labor early in the child's development to be born, and then leaving those babies on a shelf in a hospital soiled utility room was a practice of infanticide," said former Senator Patrick O'Malley (R-Palos Park).
Just last November, Barry's land deal with Rezko came to light, while Tony Rezko was under federal investigation. But I sincerely doubt that anything will come of it, even if Barry did something wrong. Scandal is acceptable on the left hand side of the tracks, (Clinton threw a party on the Whitehouse lawn when he was impeached) while even perceived scandal on the right is severely punished. It's a new world.
Overall, it seems "Barry" can be whatever you want him to be if you squint hard enough. Cathy Santos, co-founder of the Chicago-based Republican Young Professionals said "He's more of a socialist than he is even a Democrat." If Obama got his way, the U.S. health care system would be worse than what Hillary proposed during her husband's presidency. Plus, he's one of a handful of candidates bankrolled and supported by George Soros, the man behind moveon.org, who 'bought the democratic party', and unlike Hillary, he's been to Soros' house for fundraising, not even bothering to keep him at arm's length.
Taken together, this is a picture that scares me.

Post a CommentIt is so sad to see that such ignorance still exists in America in the year 2008.
The only attack that you can make on the man is one of race. Dont you think that this country has become a mult-cultural nation. We have African-Americans, Africans, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Italians, Jews, Native Americans (The original owners), Cubans, Iranians, Asia Americans and the list could go to infinity. All contributors to the United States. So in the vast design of things what gives you the right to scoff about the man being black. Move on! drop the Pre-Civil War mentality. WE ARE AMERICAN and THAT'S SOMETHING YOU CAN'T CHANGE!!
To Heather:
Why does Obama disgust you?
I would like to know what the first comment by Harper means. Also, I would like to know the answers to Alyce's questions above, because a lot of the things that are being said about Barak can be debunked, such as him being a muslim just because he went to a muslim school when he was 6. Children don't have a voice, as he didn't then.
i rock soo much!!wanna see a monkey? @(^.^)@, wanna see a banana? ) thats it!
XD wanna see a phone? (::[])-
I could not locate any confirmation of how Obama voted on HR 2175. What I discovered was he was not a member of Congress when the bill was passed. If it were a state bill he could not have voted on it because, from all info I was able to obtain the bill originated in Ohio.
The bill "...would provide guaranteed legal protection whether or not the infant's delivery was natural or the result of an abortion." Politics is a dirty game and it is not what you say it is how you say it. Do people know that a natural abortion occurs when there is something wrong with a fetus? I have never heard of one incidence where a hospital did not immediately try to save the life of a deformed newborn. Do people really believe they are put on a shelf in a soiled utility room? Often Congress "sandwiches" bills so that rejecting it's passage, might cause needed revisions. I reserve judgement on Mr. Obama's vote until I read it for myself.
I swing to the left. I'm a liberal. I'm pro-choice. I'm a Democrat. But Obama disgusts me.
