The first tip is very self-explanatory, and should be used no matter what. Make sure that when you're taking your multiple choice test that you read each and every question carefully. Ensure that you fully understand what the question is before you start to find your answer. It is imperative that you fully understand what the question is asking you, this way you know what type of answer to look for. One of the words that you must watch out for is the word "NOT," this word can quickly slip out of a readers mind and cause you to put an incorrect answer.
Whenever you are reading through the questions of the test, make sure you always cross out the answers that you know for sure aren't the answer. Even if you don't know the exact answer, mark off the ones that are obviously wrong. This is like the 50/50 life-line on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, by doing this you will increase your chances of having a correct answer. Another great tip is whenever you are simply "guessing" the answer; always stick with the same answer. An example of this is if you always choose the answer "B" than keep answering the questions you don't know with "B," unless you know "B" is wrong.
When you are taking a multiple choice English/grammar test, or if a question requires you to fill in the missing word of a test, ensure that the answer you choose stays within the same grammatical direction as the question. This will heighten your chances of choosing a correct answer. Taking a multiple choice test can sometimes be extremely confusing, however if you keep these tips in mind you will find that your scores will keep raising higher and higher. Of course, making sure that you study for your various tests is the only tip that will guarantee your success at taking tests.
