Kennedy Library is located at 1700 W. McGalliard Road. The hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm., Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm. This may be Muncie's easiest library to find, because it's on a very busy road across from several shops and restaurants, such as Cheeseburger In Paradise, Hobby Lobby, and many other often visited businesses. It also has been recently renovated. There are occasional performances at this library as part of the Music at Kennedy Library series. Often times these performances take place around the beautiful Sonata Sculpture. For more information about upcoming performances, check the Muncie Public Library home page at the following url. http://www.munpl.org/
Conley Library is one of Muncie's lesser known libraries. It is located at 1824 E. Centennial Avenue. This library is closed on Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm. This is Muncie's smallest library.
Maring-Hunt Library is located at 2005 S. High Street. It is open 7 days a week, though hours do vary depending on which days you want to visit. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 8 pm, Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm. Maring-Hunt has also been known for hosting a free comic book day, again for more information check out the Muncie Public Library website. (Maring-Hunt also offers computer classes.)
Carnegie Library is located at 301 E. Jackson Street and is open from 10 am to 7pm Monday through Thursday. It is also open on Friday from 9 am to 6 pm. The library is closed on Saturday on Sunday.
The Local History and Genealogy Center, much like Conley Library, isn't a mainstream Muncie library because of its specialized information. It is closed on Sundays, but still has plenty of hours of operation to choose from. It's open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm and also Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.
Bracken Library is a tricky one, because it's not technically a public library. It's a University library specifically connected to Ball State University. But it is open to the public, even if the public can't check out any information. So it's still a great place to go to browse information, take your laptop for work, or do research. There are also sometimes performances associated with the University theater and music departments that occur from time to time. Also, the hours of operation change frequently around Ball State's schedule. So make sure to check out the hours at the following URL; http://www.bsu.edu/library/article/0,,14625--,00.html
