Muppets Bohemian Rhapsody Becomes a YouTube Classic

The Muppets Perform Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody in Amusing Fashion

Ryan Christopher DeVault
Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody has been changed by The Muppets forever. The Muppets version of Bohemian Rhapsody is burning up YouTube as many people flock to view what can best be described as a really funny interpretation of the famous Queen song. In the video, many of The Muppets characters are seen performing different parts of Bohemian Rhapsody, some of them in extremely funny fashion that could cause this video to go viral very quickly. The most endearing part of it is that they all seem to be having a great time doing it.

Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the most recognizable songs from Queen, and it has been performed by a number of artists over the years, including a few participants of the Fox reality show American Idol. It was a hit when it first came out, but received a huge boost when it became the anthem of Wayne's World, and pushed the song and the album back on to the Billboard charts. Queen has never had a problem selling records, but this put the song out there for a whole new generation of music fans. Not The Muppets have done it again, as the video was created using many of the familiar characters from The Muppets Show and the series of films.

This was a really good choice of songs for The Muppets, as there are many different octaves and verses that different characters could participate in. The song begins with character Gonzo and his chickens signing the opening, and then breaks into a short stint where Animal sings part of the first bridge. Then the video switches between several other characters as it breaks into the chorus and heads toward the finish line with some great moments that are both humorous and melodically appealing. As with any skit such as this, it ends with a comedic moment that allows Kermit the Frog to finally make his appearance in the video.

The Muppets version of Bohemian Rhapsody isn't something that's going to be confused as being an upgrade from the original Queen song, but that wasn't the point with this video. It is intended to be a tongue-in-cheek fun way to watch the song be performed, and its whole purpose is to put a smile on the face of its viewers. It's interesting to watch, fun for its whole duration, and it re-introduces some of the great Muppets characters that people may have forgotten over the years. Take a moment from your busy schedule to check out what's certainly going to be a topic at the water cooler this week.
