Murad: Cleansing Facial Skin to Near Perfection

Paisley Adams
I feel like I've discovered gold! Murad's Resurgence Renewing Cleansing Cream ($33 for just under 7 oz.) is one of my finds of the year. I would never have tried it or even glanced its way had Murad not send me a sample packet. I've been rotating cream cleansers for a while now in an effort to find something suitable for my super dry, extra sensitive, always irritated skin. I prefer a concoction that's rich, creamy, moisturizing and thick. As soon as I poured this cleanser into my hand, I knew it would meet all of my requirements.

The scent hit me first. It's not at all intoxicating or irritating. Instead, it's mild, with a slightly herbal and fruity aroma. I imagine much of that fruitiness comes from the papaya enzyme ingredient, which exfoliates (very gently - I can't feel it) and apricot oil (which deeply moisturizes). As I massaged this whipped, almost mousse-like, pearlescent cream into my facial skin, I was taken by how quickly it seemed to sink in, deep clean and remove my makeup. It felt so wonderful on my usually dry skin that I couldn't help leaving it on for a couple of extra minutes just to soak in the moisture. As I rinsed it off with warm water, I noticed that though the cleanser quickly washed away - efficiently taking with it all my makeup, I might add - I could still feel it on my face. I kept rinsing, thinking the only reason my skin felt so silky smooth was because all of the cream had not been completely washed off. Finally I peeked at myself and saw that every bit of cream was gone. My face felt as amazingly smooth and silky after rinsing as it did while I was massaging the cream in. I applied a touch of moisturizer, as I always do before bed, and the next morning, was pleasantly surprised to discover that my skin still felt pillow soft!

I'm not one to rave so maniacally about skin care products, but I can't help going on about this. I've been using it now for several months, and the condition of my facial skin has completely changed. I've always found that when trying a new product, I'll have some modest success with it before it burns out on me and causes some kind of reaction. Not so with this dream cream, however. It's lasted the test of time, proven itself to be worthy of my sensitive skin and left my skin feeling soft, looking wonderful and glowing.

Murad recommends this for menopausal or pre-menopausal skin. Though I'm not yet at that stage of life, I'm confident that my sensitive skin is as delicate as most mature skin types are. It benefits well from this cleansing cream! To obtain a sample, visit the Murad web site.
