Murad's Perfecting Day Cream sells for about $45 dollars for a 1.7 oz. tube. The moisturizer is a bit on the heavy side, and having combination skin, I thought it may be a touch heavy for my daily use. I was wrong. This cream is heavy, but sinks right into the skin, not leaving any trace of oil or shine. In fact, the Perfecting Cream left a matte finish on my face and helped my powder foundation stick well. The creme doesn't have much of a fragrance, which is nice for a face moisturizer. It only takes a small amount to cover the entire face, and sinks in quickly, so it doesn't require a lot of the product for daily use. I found that the hydrating properties of Murad's Perfecting Cream were immediately noticeable, as the fine lines plumped out of my skin, and my cheeks seemed more filled out. The creme sunk in well to the skin, so it left the face well-moisturized throughout the day, and I never noticed any sliding of my makeup at all.
The Perfecting Cream is also an SPF 30, so it protects the face and neck from the sun quite well. This was a nice bonus, as I have found many SPF creams to be oily, thick, and usually led to breakouts on my face. The Perfecting Cream is heavy, but not oily, nor causes breakouts, so it's the perfect combination moisturizer for those customers who would rather use just one product rather than three. I've found Murad's Perfecting Creme to serve well as a moisturizer, makeup primer, and a sun block.
According to the Murad Web site, the Perfecting Cream uses Evening Primrose, Borage Seed Oil, and Essential Fatty Acids to aid in retaining moisture in the face. Lecithin is used to help restore the skin's supple nature and also to lock in moisture. Finally, Soy Flour is used in the Perfecting Cream to help soften lines and protect elasticity in the skin.
Murad suggests using the complimentary cleanser and toner prior to applying the Perfecting Day Cream to the face and neck. I used my general, cheap, drugstore facial cleanser, no toner, and then applied the Perfecting Day Cream to my face and had no problem. I found this to be one of the best moisturizers on the market, and it warrants the price, as it lasts a long time.
