A 33-year-old man named Terrel Canty was shot to death in Clinton Hill on Oct. 12. The murder happened at the intersection of Classon and Lafayette avenues at 8:30 in the morning, according to the New York Post.

The Post points out the disruption to traffic Canty's murder caused at the busy intersection due to its ensuing investigation. Though this is a problem, it is the least of the problem.

A human being was gunned-down in the street in broad daylight in Clinton Hill. According to The Local, Canty was a "dedicated father" and his "shooting took place a block from the precinct house."

This is a brazen and highly visible act of violence, Clinton Hill.

A suspect was arrested, after the fact, but we need to get the guns off the streets, before the fact.

Violence is not, and never has been, the solution to anything. Yet, this is 2010 and some people still don't see it.

Two lives were ruined yesterday for the shooter will inevitably go to prison.

Life has value. Violence has no value in life.

Till next time, Clinton Hill. Hopefully, with better news.

From the skyscrapers of NYC, I face strength. From the people of NYC, I gain understanding. And from the heart of NYC, I feel inspiration. So, I tend to write about the city quite a bit.  View profile
