Sitting on the seawall, you will see to the left fishing boats where seafood is brought in daily, and straight ahead is the popular Garden City lined with immaculate beach homes and hotels. Ghost stories and rocking chair tales told from locals will have you feeling the quaintness of this seaside neighborhood.

One of the most popular places in the inlet is the Marsh Walk. An ever extending walkway that lines the marsh with every restaurant and pub you could imagine. From elegant dining to live bands, Restaurant Row has something for everyone. People come from all over just to taste the richness of the inlet cooked by award winning chefs in one of the thirty-plus restaurants.

Murrells inlet not only has jam packed entertainment, but is the seafood capital of South Carolina. Seafood markets in the area offer fresh caught shrimp, fish, clams, oysters and more. The employees are always happy to assist you with your purchase if you are not accustomed to buying fresh and will also lend you some tips for their scrumptious recipes.

Just a few miles down the road is Huntington Beach State Park which is home to the historic castle, Atalaya. Complete with an oyster shucking room and watch tower, this castle is open to the public and is a favorite spot for weddings. Atalaya is noted as a National Historic Landmark. Across the street is the beautiful Brookgreen Gardens. Filled with sculptures and fountains throughout, this is the place to see beautiful gardens and even a petting zoo.
