Fishing, fishing, fishing. What more can I say about Murrells Inlet. If you want to go on a fishing excursion this is the place to vacation. With several marinas offering great deals on half day or full day excursions, any fisherman will be happy visiting Murrells Inlet.
If you want to be on the water but not fishing you can book a tour on the Waccamaw Lady. You will see slave cabins, rice plantations, alligators, and even yachts on the Intracoastal Waterway. You can bring your own snack or get a box lunch at Hanna Bananas Sunshine Cabana to take along.
When you bring kids to Murrells Inlet be sure to check out Pirate Adventures at Crazy Sister Marina. The kids dress as pirates or mermaids and take a seventy-five minute cruise in search of buried treasure. The kids will learn as well as have fun. Definitely a do not miss out on.
If you love bicycling you can Bike The Neck. You can ride from the south entrance of the inlet all the way to the Georgetown county line at Carson Avenue, or take a trip over the bike bridge to Huntington Beach State Park and spend the day bird watching, see the environmental center, and maybe see an alligator. You can even camp there if you don't want to stay in a motel and there is space for both rv's and tent camping. The park offers hiking trails, fishing, boating, and picnicking and is well worth the bike ride.
If you're not one to sleep in an rv or in a tent, there are several hotels and condos available at discount rates over last years pricing. With unemployment being high along with gas prices vacationers now can get great rates to stay longer or additional free or discount items are added by condo and hotel owners to sway you to book your stay with them. Taking advantage of these special discounts could help you stay longer and do more things while you are in vacation in Murrells Inlet.
There are so many other things to see and do such as playing tennis, golfing, shopping, tours, and oh yeah, eating. Murrells Inlet has some of the best restaurants on the Grand Strand.
If you love seafood you are going to have a tough time deciding where to eat. My suggestion is to try them all. You won't be disappointed.
When you're finished with all the eating, biking, touring, boating, fishing, and what not, don't forget to relax and just spend a day at the beach. After all, that is why you came to South Carolina, isn't it?
