The Naples Museum of Art can be found in a splendid three-story, thirty thousand square foot facility, and contains fifteen galleries and a fabulous glass dome conservatory. The Collier County Museum offers in-depth exhibits that depict ten thousand years of local history, including prehistoric land and sea, the "American Serengetti," South Florida's first people, the Calusa Indians, the Europeans' arrival, the Seminoles, the wars, right up to modern day life. Veterans will be delighted to see a genuine Sherman tank on display. The Collier County Museum is located at 3301 Tamiami Trail East. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. The museum is open year round, from nine a.m. to five p.m., Monday through Friday, and on Saturday from nine to four. Visit the museum, along with its sister museums, online at http://www.colliermuseum.com/main/index.htm.

For a touching tribute to the survivors and victims of the Holocaust, visit the Southwest Florida Holocaust Museum. Located at 4760 Tamiami Trail North, Suite 7, in Naples, the museum provides a chronological look at the events that shaped the Nazi empire and its genocides. The museum actually started as an exhibit created by children to educate other children, adults, and future generations. Today, exhibits "depict life in Europe before the War and then progress through graphic illustrations of the rise of the Nazi regime and the stunning inhumanity of the systematic destruction of millions of people." Admission is $5, and the museum is open from one p.m. to four p.m. Tuesday through Friday and on Sunday. For more information, visit their website at http://www.hmswfl.org/index.html.
