Music Gifts for Your Teen this Holiday

5 CDs Your Picky Person is Sure to Love

John Lindsey
With the holidays just around the corner, picking out gifts for your teenager can't be put off for long. If you're looking for something simple and effective, try something from this list.

1) Breaking Benjamin, Phobia (2006): With their chart-topping single "The Diary of Jane" getting much airplay, teenage boys and girls alike are going to love this album. Mixing rock-heavy guitar chords with powerful vocals, Breaking Benjamin is the definition of alternative rock.

2) Evanescence, The Open Door (2006): Amy Lee's follow-up to the hugely successful Fallen quickly went platinum after the success of its first single, "Call Me When You're Sober". Lee's beautiful voice resonates over melodic rock riffs, with lyrics sure to strike home with your teen.

3) Justin Timberlake, FutureSex LoveSounds (2006): Timberlake's second solo release has brought him out of the harsh boy-band stereotype and into the world of techno. With music your teenage girl is sure to love, make sure this makes it into their collection if it hasnt already.

4) Hinder, Extreme Behavior (2005): Hinder's debut album was actually released over a year ago, but has only this year hit its stride. With many singles now getting airtime across the nation, including "Get Stoned", "Lips of an Angel" and others, this album has been the runaway success of the alternative rock scene this year. Your teen won't want to miss this!

5) Skillet, Comatose (2006): You've probably never heard of this christian-turned-mainstream band, but they are making waves across the country with their seventh album. "Whispers in the Dark" is their debut single, and is set to launch them into stardom. If you are looking for a rock CD with positive lyrics that your teen will still love, pick this up!

  • CDs make great stocking stuffers!
  • Music gifts keep on giving!
All of these bands but one (Hinder) have released more than one album. If your teen likes what they hear, they can use their holiday cash to purchase more from their new favorite artist!
