Rock Music Playlist for Halloween Parties

By: Rachel de Carlos

Goblins certainly will rock and roll all night with Rachel's classic picks. Her Halloween party play list includes the standards and also offers several fun twists. Rachel's song descriptions are witty and she offers commentary on specific lyrics that are laugh out loud funny.

Nice that she included Oingo Boingo's Dead Man's Party and Tom Petty's Zombie Zoo but my particular favorite on this Halloween music list is her bonus track. To quote Rachel, "Aerosmith thinks that the Dude Looks Like a Lady and it's not even Halloween!" Gold.

Top Horror Soundtracks for Halloween Music

By: Wendy Dawn

This article is a fresh take on a Halloween music list - sound tracks. Wendy lists 10 Halloween sound tracks appropriate as background music for a Halloween Party. Some of these songs would work for creepy sound effects if you want to ramp up the eerie quotient when trick-or-treaters come to your house.

Just reading her picks will conjure scary memories of some seriously disturbed horror movies. Who can forget the hauntingly sinister Tubular Bells from The Exorcist? Enough said. Check out her suggestions for an original treat.

Halloween Music Mix: Great, but Little-Known Halloween Songs

By: Timothy Sexton

Hat's off for originality on this list. Timothy offers songs that are unique and somewhat obscure. There are a few overlaps with other lists I've reviewed but, for the most part, this is a unique play list. Avoiding metal and Goth music on this Halloween song list, Timothy offers a fairly family friendly selection that will please a wide variety of guests.

Sophisticated Halloween Songs

By: K. Bellamy

In this article, K. provides Halloween music suggestions if your plans call for a calm, sophisticated Halloween gathering. Her unique picks are less about zombies and freak shows and more about the beguiling nature of the season.

Among her recommendations are Frank Sinatra's Witchcraft, and That Old Black Magic by Sammy Davis, Jr. As K. suggests, these songs cleverly celebrate the season and are sure winners if you are having a sophisticated Halloween dinner or cocktail party. These are excellent picks and a great idea for a Halloween music song list.

Halloween Music Article #10
The Best Music for Halloween
By: Patricia Barkley

The Best Music for Halloween is another excellent article with a wide range of Halloween music suggestions. Patricia covers a lot of territory here, with recommendations ranging from songs like "Lil' Red Riding Hood" by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs to creepy Celtic music selections. She colorfully discusses movie sound tracks and children's music and everything in between.

Patricia even recommends a dance/techno song by the group DHT entitled "Magic Melody." Interestingly, she explains that the song lyrics are actually a poem by Edgar Allen Poe. Cool. Scary.
