So, you've started that new "just in time for summer" diet. You've practically stopped eating. You haven't had chocolate in weeks. And you're still not seeing the goal you had anticipated. The problem is, you aren't' burning enough calories to lose the weight you want. Movement is key in any weight loss program. You can't just stop eating, or even cut back on your eating and lose any significant amount of weight. You have to Move!
The problem with that is many women are just not motivated enough to work out every day. And believe me ladies, every day is what it will take to meet your weight loss goals. Here's something maybe you hadn't though of...Dance!
Remember the music you listened to when you were young? The music that takes you back to that wonderful time when we were teenagers and had our whole lives before us? You can use that music and that feeling of youth to get back to the shape you were in when you were in shape. Get an old CD, or use an MP3 player. Believe me, if you don't have one, or can't figure out how to use them, I bet your teenager does. You can load whatever songs make you want to get up and boogie on an MP3 player and get on the move. Music makes you feel happy and energetic. Music from your own era makes you feel young and invincible. You know the happy feeling you get when you listen to "Footloose". You know you just can't sit still when you hear "Crocodile Rock". Use these feelings and finally lose those pesky pounds that nothing else seems to budge.
Take a walk with your CD player or MP3 player. Pick up your pace just a little. Just a small amount of extra movement could add up to a few extra pounds each month. If you don't like to walk, or just don't have time, listen to your music while cleaning house (where we spend most of our time). Pick up the pace with your vacuum, dance while you dust, or put some oomph into your window cleaning and bed making. Whatever it is you're doing, if you're listening to Your music, you will move more and ultimately lose more. Why not just dance. While the kids are in school and the hubby is at work, turn up your music and Dance!! Nobody is around to watch and you can go crazy.
Plan on adding music at least 3 or 4 days a week and watch your weight loss pick up. Ideally you would check with your doctor if you have any health problems that would be complicated by massive use of energy. And believe me, you'll feel more energetic and much more relaxed and happy after you take a trip back to your younger days. So go ahead and dance your pounds away. Just remember to drink lots of water (which by the way will add to the weight loss total). Have fun, sing, dance and be slimmer for summer.
