One of the first Sam Cooke tribute albums were by the red-hot Motown group, The Supremes, called "We Remember Sam Cooke".

The Rat Pack were also red-hot this year.(leader Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop).
Besides successful Las Vegas gigs, other club engagements, and movies ("Sargents Three", "Ocean's Eleven","Robin And The Seven Hoods"),
The three singing members returned to the top 40 this year; Dean Martin, with the no. 1 smash, "Everybody Loves Somebody", Sammy Davis Jr., with "The Shelter Of Your Arms", a no. 17 hit, and Sinatra with "Softly, As I Leave You" (no. 27).

And this year's three musical standouts:
1. The Beatles 2. The Motown Sound 3. The British Invasion
