Music, from my experience, is one of the most important sources of inspiration that one can ever find. It has the ability to transport us to unknown places, imagine unknown faces, and touch us with incredible graces.
We find ourselves in the hands of music when we drive our cars, go up or down in the elevator, take a ride on the subway train, and inevitably we listen, even if we don't pay much attention. It may calm us down, pump us up with good or bad vibes, but no matter what, it always has an effect on us.
It's an important step in most relationships, when we try to find the perfect tune to mark the first kiss, the great moments, the fabulous memories that we will remember one day, once we listen to that song.
Music shows itself through many genres, who appeal to many people, for it's instruments, for the lyrics, the singer, or just because of a subconcious response to the general structure of the musical presentation and it's infinite details.
Since we were small, humming a tune in our minds, or just out loud, has been a reality. It's undeniable that music has always been a part of us, and will remain to be one, even if it changes through time.
Music is the expression of our dreams, our desires, our needs, and no one is immune to such things. Therefore music is vital, it's the response to our own music, our heartbeat, our breath, our movement, and for this reason, music is important, extremely important in our everyday life.
When we watch a movie, what is one of the most important element that makes us feel each scene to the fullest? Sound! It can be through the music, or just the sounds around the characters, which in all determine our reaction to the movie. A sad movie is filled with slow, calm, overall sad songs. An action movie will be packed for sure with an explosive pumping theme song. It's like our heartbeat is conditioned by the song beat. If it's slow, we are peaceful and turn more sensitive towards the scene. Therefore some of us cry. If it's fast, our heart races, and we feel the adrenaline rushing through our bodies.
Isn't it amazing? Isn't it just incredible? The reaction one has to music. I've tried to watch sad movies with the sound really low, and I ended up not feeling the same way about the movie as I did before. Or do you know those cut scenes that some dvd's have, where they only edit the dialogue sounds, but there's no environmet or theme song on the scene? When I watch them I don't feel much about it, I don't really get any reaction. Interesting! Music is imperative!
I admit some silent movies are just amazing, but that's an incredible amount of genious into the drama and the acting. Nowadays that genious has been put into music. Because like this we can always carry it with us, listen to it and remember.
There are endless reasons to listen to music. In my case, it's my life, my inspiration, I can't help loving it, listening, making it, with every beat and inch of soul that I have.
