If you're looking to expand and upgrade the promotion of yourself or your band, look no further than in the mirror, this means you. To get the best out of promotion, you must have a vision and believe in yourself and the others around you both musically and when it comes to business. The key to expanding your business is to stay the same. I know this sounds strange, but it's true. Stay true to what you do, meaning creating music and selling music, and the rest will fall into place.

Re-releasing Albums

The best way to upgrade your brand is to recycle old albums. While alot of people aren't into hearing "old" material, you don't have to keep it the same. The music should be re-mixed or even done live. Think about it like this, you sold your last CD which was all studio produced right? If that is the case, you can use those same recordings that you made before they were compressed to CD and create another CD with the "live" sound. This means all those off cue licks the guitar player played and the off pitch vocals of the lead singer can be maximized for profit. Yes music listeners love to hear error free music, however; when they experience the "raw" version of their favorite song(s), it brings them more to life in the mind of the listener.

Jumping in the Merchandise Game

Another way to expand your music ventures and brand is by creating merchandise based off of your music. If you have a strong fan base that likes certain songs, build a music promotion off of what's popular. There are plenty of free on-line websites such as Cafepress and Zazzle that will allow you to create fashion items just by adding designs or words. Use sites like this to your ability in order to promote to the maximum. Create shirts and other appeal with you or your bands logo as well as list of the words or phrases of your most popular songs. While your fans can get these shirts made on their own time without spending money on you, they will constantly purchase from you to show support.
