There are so many ways that you can promote your music to get the maximum exposure that you're looking for. When it comes to music promotion, you must utilize all of your outlets and talents to make the best of your situation. A lot of times, musicians are nervous about trying a new music promotion approach when it comes to setting up shows and selling CD's, don't be one of them!

Telephone Hustler

What's a Telephone Hustler? A Telephone Hustler is someone that can sell themselves and possibly their band over the phone. This includes booking shows over the phone, having your song played on the radio by calling in and as well many other outlets. When promoting yourself to a club promoter or the radio station, be aggressive. Don't call in with a half way speech that you just pieced to together. For instance, don't call in and say "Um, I was wondering if you were looking for performers", that's the wrong approach! Be forceful when calling, for instance, use a phrase such as this "Hi, this is "your name" and I was calling to confirm my show date". This may sound a little bit too forceful, however; don't knock it until you try it first. Even if you don't have a show scheduled, your confidence will sure make the promoter wonder about your talents. Just remember, if all else fails, all the promoter or radio station can say is "no". If you're one of those people that get offended or hurt by being turnt down, you won't have to worry, it's not in person. You don't have to physically look at the person face to face while they're telling you "no", this is a completely different league!

Making Everything Official

After trying the "Telephone Hustler" method, you must make sure that everything is official when it comes to setting up radio and club time. If you've successfully followed the above "Telephone Hustler" method, chances are, you're set up to do more shows than one. Remember that you can reach anyone, anywhere just from a phone call, that's the great thing about phones. You don't have to physically be somewhere in order to talk to all the people you needs to talk to across the world. Use this promotion tip to your advantage when it comes to getting your music into other genres and markets. The most important thing to remember is, stay consistent when making show dates over the phone. Since the person won't be able to physically see you when they're making these arrangements, they will be going by your word over the phone, never break your word, stick to it!
