Music Review for Jane Hunt's 'Violin Venus' EP

CW Ross

The violin has always been an interesting instrument that can make itself at home in a wide range of musical styles. Unfortunately a lot of people still believe it's only true home is that of classical music.

The self-proclaimed 'Violin Venus', Jane Hunt is doing her best to change that misunderstanding on her 4-song EP entitled, 'Violin Venus.'

Hunt was born in England but now calls New York City home. She comes from a classically trained background and has played at a wide range of venues from The US Open and New York Fashion Week to Radio City Music and Carnegie Hall.

The first track found on the EP, "Vasene," starts off with a new age electronic vibe but ends with some aggressive, thick, rock-like beats. This song is also the only one featuring any vocals on it, the rest of them let the violin do all of the talking!

Track-2, "Melia Dream," offers up a traditional classical orchestral sound on it.

Track-3, "Flying High," is a track that offers up a rich sound that's helped along by the piano part that's found on it.

"Sahara," wraps things up with its sound that features interesting sounding additional string and percussion parts on it.

Hunt, who has been blessed with model like beauty, also has the talent to take her violin lead music to whatever level she wants as the 4-songs found on this EP prove beyond a doubt.

Hunt also shows her production side talents as the producer for the EP.
