Must Have It

From the corner of my eye
It rolls by
Carefully watching it roll
Where it stops I must know
As it reaches the edge, it slows
I must know where it goes
My view, blocked for a moment
Figures it rolls off, don't it
Where did it land
I must get it into my hand
Spot it ,I see it and I must have it
I jump to floor in a fit
Crawling along the floor
Little me, others just ignore
People dancing all around
It really must be found
Others just stepping all over me
"I am down here, cant you see"
Stuck to the sole of a shoe
It still looks shiny and new
With every dancing step
I plunge in with pep
Finally it comes free
Although the struggle came with a fee
I actually got it
Now it is safely stored in my pocket
